Introduction

At Blue Lab Co., Ltd., when collecting, managing, and using personal information in the course of conducting our business, we will handle such information according to this policy.


1. Compliance with laws concerning protection of personal information

We will comply with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“APPI”) and other related laws and regulations as well as this policy regarding the handling of personal information.


2. Collection of personal information

2-1 We will only collect personal information appropriately, never through false or other improper means and within the scope necessary for conducting our business.

2-2 We will not collect sensitive personal information (yohairyo-kojin-jyoho) as defined under APPI without obtaining the consent of the data subject in advance, except in cases permitted under applicable laws and regulations.


3. Use of personal information

3-1 We will use personal information within the scope necessary for conducting the following business operations and achieving the following purpose of use. Moreover, we will not use personal information for any purposes other than those set out below. In the case of using personal information for businesses or purposes not stated below, we will only do so after obtaining the data subject’s consent in advance, except where permitted under applicable laws and regulations including APPI.

[2] Purpose of Use

(1) To provide information relating to Blue Lab’s business.

(2) To respond to or send materials in response to inquiries.

(3) To provide information relating to Blue Lab's seminars, products, and other services.

(4) To conduct our business smoothly (including but not limited to the following).

- To carry out commissioned business such as consulting services provided by our company

- To exercise our rights and perform our obligations under contracts, laws, etc.

- To research and develop products and services through market research, data analysis, etc.

- To offer various proposals and information on products and services of partner companies, etc.

- To carry out after-the-fact-control for cancellations or terminations of various transactions

- To ascertain and manage various risks

(5) To perform other businesses related to the above.

3-2 When changing the purpose of use of personal information, we will do so within the scope that it is reasonably relevant to the original purpose of use. Also, if we change the purpose of use, we will announce the changed purpose by updating this policy.


4. Prohibition of improper use

We will not use personal information in a manner that is likely to encourage or induce illegal or unjust behavior.


5. Securing the accuracy of personal data

We will keep personal data accurate and up-to-date within the scope necessary for achieving the stipulated purpose of use, and when we no longer need it, we will delete such personal data without delay.


6. Security control of personal data

In order to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of personal data we handle and for the security control of personal data, we will take necessary and appropriate measures such as establishing of this policy and internal rules concerning the handling of personal information, restricting access to personal information, and conducting regular trainings. In addition, when Blue Lab’s executive officers and employees (all persons engaged in our business, regardless of employment contract) or contractors (including subcontractors) are provided with access to person data, we will conduct necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure the security control of such personal data.


7. Provision of personal data to third parties

In principle, we will not provide personal data to third parties without obtaining the data subject's consent in advance, except in cases permitted under applicable laws and regulations such as APPI. However, in cases where the handling of personal information is outsourced (itaku) to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, in cases of merger, etc., or in cases of joint use with a specified person separately set forth, personal data may be provided without the data subject’s consent.


8. Disclosure/correction of personal information

8-1 We will endeavor to take appropriate and prompt action with regard to requests for notifying the purpose of use or disclosure of the content of retained personal data, requests for correction, addition, or deletion for reasons such as when the content of retained personal data is inaccurate, or requests for suspension of use, deletion, or suspension of provision to third parties.
